Find, install and share community skills

4 min · Skills, routines and the Creator market

Other Minda users write good skills too. Community skills are prompt skills people share through Minda's account server, free to install.

Browse

Open Settings → Skills → Discover and pick Community, or open Settings → Skill store, whose tabs are Skills, Community and Creator market. Search, pick a category, sort by Popular, Trending or New, and start with Staff picks.

Shared skills also have public pages on the account server's skills page, so you can send a friend a link. Anyone can browse; installing, reporting and sharing need a Minda account, and a skill installs only through Minda.

Install with your eyes open

Press Review & install. You can read the whole prompt with Show the prompt, and the author's example: an input and the output it gave. The author wrote that example, and Minda does not check it. Then press Install for review.

An installed skill starts off and marked for review, so a stranger's prompt never runs before you have read it. Turn it on in Settings → Skills when you are happy with it. The review is per computer: a copy that arrives by sync is off and waiting for review on your other computers too.

Minda also checks the text of every shared skill for signs of trouble, such as a prompt that sends sign-in details to a web address, hidden characters, or instructions that try to override the AI's rules. A risky skill is held for a moderator, and Minda won't install it. A milder finding shows as a note before you install. It is a text check, not a guarantee, so read the prompt.

When the author publishes a new version, Review update shows your current prompt beside the new one. Take the new version, or Keep current.

Share your own

Open one of your prompt skills in Settings → Skills and press Share to community…. It becomes public: anyone can read and install it, in Minda and on the web. Pick a category and fill in Shown as, your display name: it is all anyone sees of you, never your email or account. Leave it empty and you show as Minda user. A display name can't be an email address or look like Minda's own team. You can share up to 10 skills a day, and Unpublish takes yours down later (copies people installed stay on their computers).

Some things never go to the community:

  • Script and action skills. Code from other people never runs in Minda, so only prompt skills are shared.
  • Built-in and gallery skills, and copies you installed from the community.
  • Skills Minda learned from your own tasks.
  • Your routines, which hold your own steps and contacts.

A shared skill gets more installs when it does one job well. Give it a clear name, a description that says what comes out, and an example input and output.

When something is wrong

Press Report and pick a reason: spam or advertising, harmful or dangerous, hateful or offensive, misleading, copyright or trademark, illegal content, or something else. Reports from three people hide a skill until a moderator looks. Who reported a skill is never shown to anyone, a moderator included.

Made something good enough to charge for? That is the Creator market, in the next lesson.
