Skills: let good prompts do the work
You will notice you ask the AI for some things again and again: summarize this, fix my grammar, compare these products. A skill saves that ask once, with the format you like, so it runs with a few keystrokes.
Run a skill
- Type
/in the chat box and pick a skill, or type its trigger, such as/compare. Enter sends it; Tab puts the full prompt in the box so you can edit it first. - Type
/in the address bar to run a skill on the page on screen. - Right-click a page and choose Skills.
- Press Use in chat on a skill's row in Settings → Skills.
Text after the trigger goes into the skill. /compare noise-canceling headphones under $200 compares exactly that.
You don't always have to name one. In a chat, the AI picks the skill a task needs from the skills you turned on.
Start from the gallery
Settings → Skills → Discover → Curated has 36 ready-made skills in nine categories: Research, Writing, Business, Legal, Finance & accounting, Marketing & SEO, Developer, Productivity and Education. Press Add and type its trigger. A few worth trying first:
- Compare products (
/compare): prices, key specs, strengths and weaknesses side by side, and which to buy. It runs in research mode, so it reads the makers' pages and reviews. - Fact-check (
/fact-check): a verdict first, then the evidence for and against, with citations. - Executive brief (
/exec-brief), Review a contract (/contract) and Reconcile two tables (/reconcile) for work. - Daily brief (
/brief), Meeting prep (/meeting-prep) and Study guide (/study) for every day.
Settings → Skill store also has starter packs: Student, Researcher, Writer, Job hunter, Marketer, Developer and Everyday.
Skills Minda learns
When one of your background tasks ends well, Minda may save what worked as a skill marked Learned, so the agent can reuse it next time. Edit it or switch it off and it becomes yours; delete it any time.
Make it yours
Every gallery skill is a starting point. After you add one, change its prompt in Your skills to match how you work: your currency, your sources, your length. The next track shows how to write skills from scratch, run whole routines by name, and share or sell what you make.
