Watch a page, and run jobs on a schedule

Two of the most useful automations take a minute to set up: watching something on a page, and running a job at set times.

Watch this for changes

Right-click a price, a status or a count on any web page and choose Watch this for changes…. A dialog shows what it says now. Then:

1. Name it, such as Price.
2. On which pages: this page, or the whole site.
3. Tell me when: its number drops or rises, goes below or above a number, drops by more than a percent, changes at all, shows certain words, appears, or goes away.
4. Then: notify me in Minda, send to my Telegram, email, WhatsApp, or save a screenshot of it.

Press Start watching and it is saved as an automation, turned on, with Open in Automations if you want to change it. Minda reads it in your open tab, signed in as you, every 3 seconds, so pages behind a sign-in work. Keep a tab with that page open. You can watch up to 20 things at once, and Settings → Automations → Activity → What is watched shows each one: Watching, No tab open, Not found on the page, or Can't read it.

A schedule inside an automation

Pick the trigger At a time you pick to run a rule every so many minutes (5 to 10,080), at a time of day such as 08:30, and on the days you choose.

The Schedules page

For jobs with more to them, open Schedules from the main menu and press New schedule:

• A task for the AI: a brief, a check or a summary, written in your words. It runs in pages of its own, off screen.
• Scrape a page (no AI): pick the values on the page, follow its next pages, and keep only new rows. Minda opens the page itself with the workspace's sign-ins. It is free: no AI, no credits.
• Follow people (no AI).

Choose how often: every 15 or 30 minutes, every hour or few hours, every day, every weekday, a day of the week, before each meeting in your calendar, or a custom cron, such as */30 9-17 * * 1-5 for every 30 minutes, 9 to 5 on weekdays. A schedule runs at most every 5 minutes.

Send the results to a note, a file on this computer (Excel, CSV, Word or PDF), your own API, email or WhatsApp. The Templates tab has ready ones: Daily brief, Meeting prep and Weekly review, among others.

Good to know

• Schedules run while Minda is open. A missed run runs when Minda starts.
• A scheduled AI run works on its own and still stops for your OK before anything that pays while Ask before paying is on.
• After 3 failed runs in a row a schedule pauses and tells you. Fix the cause, then Resume.
• Need only a nudge? Ask the chat remind me at 3:30 PM to call Bob. Timers and reminders show a notification with a sound and use no AI and no credits.
