Bring in an n8n workflow
Already built workflows in n8n? You don't have to start over. Minda imports an n8n workflow and either runs it as it is or rebuilds it as Minda steps.
Import it
In n8n, open the workflow and choose ⋯ → Download. Then, in Minda, open Settings → Automations → Import and paste the workflow or choose its file. You can also import from Import n8n workflow on your account page's Automations, from Minda SI for Chrome, or by pasting it into the AI chat.
A workflow up to 1 MB and 300 nodes comes in. Whatever way you import it, it comes in turned off so you can check it first.
Two ways to bring it in
On this computer, you choose:
- Run it as it is: its nodes, Code and AI run here as in n8n. The whole workflow becomes one step, Run an n8n workflow.
- Rebuild as Minda steps: each node that has a Minda step becomes one, and the others are listed with why they were left out.
When rebuilding would leave a node out, running it as it is is the default. A workflow imported for the cloud, or on the account page, is always rebuilt.
What rebuilds
- Triggers: Schedule, Cron and Interval become a schedule; Webhook becomes a web address of your own; Manual, Form and Chat triggers become Only when you run it; Telegram, Gmail, IMAP and RSS triggers have their Minda match.
- Steps: HTTP Request, Set, Wait, Telegram, email, Gmail and WhatsApp, plus AI nodes such as the AI Agent, Basic LLM Chain and the OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and Ollama nodes.
- IF, Filter and Switch become conditions.
Code nodes, loops and merges don't rebuild: Minda's steps run once, on one event. Those workflows are what Run it as it is is for.
What runs as it is
JavaScript Code, Set (Edit Fields), IF, Filter, Switch, Merge (Append), HTTP Request, HTML, Wait, No Operation, Convert to File, Basic LLM Chain, AI Agent without tools, and OpenAI messages and images. The AI nodes use your AI chat's model. Not yet: Python Code, n8n's own credentials and sign-ins, community nodes, Loop Over Items and sub-workflows. The step lists anything it cannot run yet.
Your keys stay yours
- Rebuilt: credentials never come in. Each step says where to give yours again in Minda.
- As it is: a key written in the workflow is encrypted on this computer at once and goes only to the site it was found going to. Any other key you type in the step's Keys box. Keys never go in a backup.
Test before it goes live
Open the step and press Test without sending. Every node runs and shows how it went: reads go out and AI answers, but a request that would change something (POST, PUT, PATCH or DELETE) is only shown, never sent. When it looks right, Save and turn it on.
