How do I move from Chrome to Minda without losing everything?

Question Answered #import #chrome #getting-started

I have years of bookmarks, passwords and sign-ins in Chrome. What can Minda bring over, and what stays behind?

Accepted answer

Minda has a one-click import. Open Settings → Import & export and use Import from another browser.

What comes over

  • Bookmarks, history, passwords, sign-ins, extensions and open tabs, from Chrome, Edge, Firefox and more.
  • At most the 10,000 most recent history pages.

What can stay behind

Some passwords. Chrome 127 and later, and current Edge, lock most passwords to themselves. Firefox passwords are not read directly. For these, export your passwords as a CSV file from the other browser's password manager, and Minda can import the file.

Your AI history too

Minda can bring in your ChatGPT and Claude exports, and Gemini's Google Takeout activity, as chats in your History on this computer. Under Settings → Memory, Bring your AI moves what another AI knows about you into Minda. You copy one prompt into that AI, paste its answer into Minda, and keep only the facts you tick.

If you would rather stay in Chrome for now, Minda SI for Chrome adds the chat and the agent to Chrome and uses the same account.
