The rail, tabs and the new tab page
Minda looks like a browser, with a few places worth knowing. Ten minutes in, these will feel like home.
The left rail
The rail holds your workspaces and your sidebar apps: web apps with their own sign-ins and, on Windows and macOS, programs on your computer and your folders, one click away. Right-click the rail to hide it or move it to the right side.
The new tab page
A new tab opens on a box that says Ask anything. That is the AI chat. Below it are Minda's tools by category: AI, Read & write, Pages & data, Tabs & windows, and Privacy & account. The ones you used last come first, and View all has a search. A tool you use on a page, such as Highlights, shows a short card with its steps instead of opening something. Alt+2 to Alt+7 run the six quick actions while the page is on screen.
Press Alt+Q anywhere to open the AI chat. To search the web, type in the address bar.
The address bar does more
- Type
@and pick @tabs, @bookmarks, @history or @ai, then what you are looking for. - Type
/to run a skill on the page on screen.
Tabs that behave
- Vertical tabs: Settings → Appearance → Tab position puts them in a column.
- Groups: right-click a tab and choose Add tab to new group.
- Memory Saver: idle tabs sleep to save memory, set in Settings → Performance.
- Split view: drag a tab onto the page and drop it on Open in split view, or press
Ctrl+\for two pages.Ctrl+Shift+\switches layouts, up to four pages. - Link preview: drag a link a little and let go, and it opens in a card beside the page.
- Screenshot and ask:
Ctrl+Shift+S, drag over anything in the window, and send it to the AI chat with your question.
Every window comes back as it was after a restart. Keyboard shortcuts follow Chrome's keys, with Alt+Q for the AI chat, and you can change, turn off or reset any of them in Settings or by asking the AI.
