Ask, summarize and let the agent act
Minda SI works at three levels: ask a question, work on a selection, or hand the agent a task.
Ask about the page
Open the panel and ask. With This page on, the page's text, title and address go with your question. Nothing from a page is sent unless you ask about it.
You can also add:
- other open tabs, sent along with your question
- pictures, or a screenshot of the tab you are on
- files such as PDF, text, Markdown, CSV, JSON and code, which are read in the panel and sent as text with your question
Turn on Research when you want a planned report with numbered sources instead of a quick answer.
Right-click shortcuts
Select text and right-click for Ask Minda SI about..., Explain or Translate. Right-click the page for Summarize this page. On YouTube there is Summarize this video, which works from the video's transcript. If a video has no captions, Minda SI can transcribe its sound while it plays, but only after you say yes, and it uses credits for the seconds it listens.
Let the agent act
Give the agent a task and it can list your tabs, read pages, find elements, click, type, press keys, scroll, open or switch tabs and go back. You can also start from a ready-made workflow, such as comparing prices or drafting email replies. The agent asks for what it needs.
Here is how you stay in charge:
- Each action appears as a step in the chat.
- A purple pointer shows every click and every field it fills.
- The page shows a bar with Pause and Stop. While it is paused you can click around yourself, and what you did goes to the AI with its next request.
- When only you can go on, such as a sign-in or a payment, the fields to fill are outlined in purple until you press Continue.
- Anything that pays, places an order or types card or bank details waits for your OK.
Site access
Minda SI gets site access when you install it, so a task is not interrupted by permission boxes. You can limit access any time in Chrome's extension menu. If you do, the agent asks again in the chat the next time it needs a site.
Good to know
A few sites refuse automated clicks. When one does, pause, do that step yourself and let the agent carry on. Chrome's own pages, other extensions and the Chrome Web Store are out of the agent's reach.
