How this community works: categories, posting and moderation

A short guide to how things work here, so you know what to expect.
Categories
- Announcements: news from the Minda team. Only staff post here.
- Questions: ask how to do something. Marked answers show first.
- Discussion: how you work with Minda, AI and the web.
- Ideas: suggestions you can vote on.
- Daily question: one question a day.
- Show and tell: share something you made.
- Off-topic: everything else.
Posting
- You post under a nickname you choose, and it is the only name shown. Your email and account name stay private.
- Give a question a clear title and say what you already tried.
- Posts use simple Markdown: paragraphs, lists, bold, code and links. Images and raw HTML are not supported.
- Search first. Someone may have answered already.
Answers
On a question, the person who asked can mark the answer that solved it, and that answer is shown first.
Minda AI answers new questions within a minute. Its answers are marked as AI, and people often know better, so add yours when you do.
Links
Links are welcome. Below level 2, a post with a link waits for a moderator before it shows, which keeps spam out. From level 2 you can post links without a hold. The points announcement shows how to get there.
Be kind
- Stay on topic. Disagree with ideas, not people.
- No ads or spam, no personal details about other people and nothing hateful or sexual.
- Never post passwords, API keys or other secrets.
Reports and moderation
Press report on any post that breaks these rules. A few reports hide a post until a moderator looks at it. The Minda team reads reported and held posts, and can edit, move, lock or remove them.
Your data
If you delete your Minda account, your posts stay and show "Former member" instead of your nickname.
